Don’t get stuck without a computer when you need it most. Unfortunately, accidents happen and equipment fails–often at the most inopportune times. Whatever the reason, Small Dog Electronics has a Rental Program that is both convenient and affordable to meet your needs.

We offer a multitude of rental options, whether you need a MacBook for a day to surf the web or check email, or a Mac Pro to serve as a professional workstation for a month. The Details

Chock-full of Software

All rental machines come with a fresh installation of MacOS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, iLife ‘11 (including iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, iWeb, and GarageBand), Safari, iChat, built-in iSight web camera, and much more. We’ll provide instructions for downloading and installing OpenOffice, a free Microsoft Office replacement, so you can continue working on your important Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files. There are no restrictions for installing software you own, and your files will be securely erased at the end of your rental term.

AppleCare + Mac = Free Loaner

We know it’s tough to be without your computer, which is why we provide flat-rate rentals to our repair customers. If you bought your computer and AppleCare from us, you’ll receive a free loaner for the duration of your repair! Out of warranty machines and machines with AppleCare purchased elsewhere can rent a consumer machine for the duration of the repair for only $99.99 or a professional model for $199.99. We offer a three-day grace period from the time we notify you of repair completion to your return of the computer.

No Reservations

You don’t need to call ahead for a rental machine unless you have specific needs such as a specialized software installation or configuration. We require a deposit for the value of the equipment, and refund that, minus rental fees, after we inspect the equipment. All refunds are issued within 24-48 hours.

Take It For a Test Drive

Renting from Small Dog Electronics is also a great way to test a computer out before you buy it. We’ll apply up to one month of rental fees towards the purchase of the machine you rent.
